A tribute to the late children’s author Lorraine Marwood whose award-winning novels focus on family life in Loddon shire. Children's authors Claire Saxby and Glenda Millard will be in conversation with Bendigo editor Cecile Shanahan to celebrate Lorraine’s life and writing. Proudly presented by Goldfields Libraries.
Free: bookings required, morning tea served.
A copy of Contours of Our Lives: reflections from the kitchen table (a community book created with Lorraine Marwood at the Dingee Library Agency) will be gifted to all attendees.

Michael Winkler is an Australian writer of fiction and non-fiction, living in Melbourne on unceded lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. He is the winner of the Calibre Prize. His novel Grimmish was shortlisted for the 2022 Miles Franklin Literary Award, the first self-published novel to make the long- or shortlist. Griefdogg is his second novel.
Wayne Marshall is an Australian writer and musician. Stories of his have appeared in Going Down Swinging, Island, Review of Australian Fiction, and other places. He is the co-founder of the Peter Carey Short Story Award, and lives in the town of Bacchus Marsh with his partner and two daughters. He is the author of Henry Goes Bush (2026) and Shirl (2020).
Michael and Wayne join The Story Society's Cecile Shanahan to discuss their latest books, the current literary fiction landscape in Australia and more.
